You most certainly have beliefs concerning yourself: You may believe that you are a brilliant artiste or an excellent golfer or a lovable individual. But you most certainly also have negative beliefs concerning yourself: You may believe that you are quiet fat or that you do not have adequate education to earn a large amount of money or that you are not beautiful enough to get a lover. These are your Limiting Beliefs!
And we all have them! Without exception! You just have to "listen" to your self talk going on in your mind! Is it always optimistic? I bet it is not. There will often be statements similar to "This won't work", "I am too stupid" or "If only I were smarter".
How do Limiting Beliefs direct to Self Sabotage?
Consider it! If you really consider that you are not beautiful enough to find a lover, you will most probably discontinue looking for one. If you in fact consider that you are not skilled enough to find a great job, you will most likely stop applying for the job you would desire. This is the primary step of Self Sabotage.
It might also go further: Let's presuppose you consider that you are not educated enough to get the job of your dreams. And for any reason (maybe your father, some friend or "fate" opened the opportunity for you) you DO get this job. If your Limiting Belief (not being educated enough) is strong enough, you will unconsciously be compelled into actions that lead to your losing this job after some time. Probably you will make stupid mistakes (mistakes that are untypical of you), possibly you will subconsciously provoke problems that lead to your being late at work almost each morning, who knows!
Limiting Beliefs lead to Self Sabotage! That is a reality! This is not a quality fault, it is just the way it is! And you might only do one thing about it:
